History & Mission

Founded in 1954, Visitation Catholic School opened its doors to grades 1-6 under the watchful eyes of Sister Mary Urban.Today, under the leadership of Sister Thomas Leo Monahan, the school has 270 families with over 500 students in preschool through eighth grade.

Mission Statement

Visitation School is an integral part of Visitation Parish, dedicated to the instruction of Christian truths and values as taught by Jesus Christ. We seek to develop habits of prayer and worship, as well as academic excellence. As educators, we strive to provide our students with an enriching Christian background that focuses on the respect and dignity of all human beings. Our goal is to develop students who are deeply committed to acts of service in their community, as well as the entire world.

Our Philosophy

Visitation School, a ministry of Visitation Parish, believes that a solid Catholic education is fundamental in the expression of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church. The Catholic vocation calls all individuals to transform themselves and society through faith education, community worship, and service to others as directed in the National catechetical Directory.

Through equal partnership with parents, the primary educators of our students, we offer all children a strong faith-centered foundation while developing their God-given potential.

The purpose of Visitation Catholic School is to develop an individual who:

  • Knows the Good News of the Gospel
  • Reflects on Old and New Testament readings
  • Develops a habit of prayer and worship
  • Views the world with a Christian perspective
  • Recognizes cultural diversity
  • Demonstrates an awareness of their responsibility toward the school parish and global community
  • Acquires basic skills as an active learner in all academic areas
  • Receives differentiated instruction to educate the whole child
  • Fosters higher level critical thinking skills
  • Participates in self-evaluation and formal/informal assessments
