Different Cub Scout Ranks

What is a?

Tiger Cub A boy in first grade (or 7 years old) who is introduced to Scouting through monthly activities in which he participates with an Adult Partner. Tiger Cub meetings are led by the Tiger Cub den leaders with the assistance of parents.

Wolf Scout A boy who has completed first grade (or is 8 years old) and is working to complete the 12 achievements in the WOLF BOOK to earn his Wolf Badge and rank.

Bear Scout A boy who has completed second grade (or is 9 years old) and is working to complete 12 of 24 achievements in the BEAR BOOK to earn his Bear Badge and rank.

Webelos Scout A boy who has completed third grade (or is 10 years old) and is working to complete activities in the WEBELOS BOOK to earn his Webelos pins and badges. Webelos is a two-year program.

Scout Uniform

The purpose of the Scout Uniform is to build pride, encourage good behavior and provide a place for the proper display of badges and identify members as part of the worldwide organization of Scouting. The blue in the uniform is for truth.
The gold is for good cheer.

We ask that all Scouts and leaders to be in complete uniform by the October Pack Meeting.

Scouting apparel is available through various distributors. (see side bar.) Official pants, shorts, caps, belts and socks are available; however, the choice of purchasing and wearing these official items is left to the Scout and his family.

Pack 14 requires only the following official apparel:

Tigers, Wolves and Bears: Blue shirt; Orange, gold or blue neckerchief, and tie slide. (Neckerchief and
slide provided by Pack 14.)

Webelos: Tan or blue shirt, blue shoulder loops, plaid neckerchief, tie slide, and Webelos Colors Pin.

Other requirements? In addition, each Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scout will need:

  • The Cub Scout Book for his level
  • Three Fires Shoulder Patch and
    Pack Numerals 1 and 4
  • Den numeral patch

Red Patch vests are provided by Pack 14 and made by First Grade Den Leaders. Neckerchiefs and slides are provided by Pack 14 as a part of your Pack dues. The World Scout Crest emblem is optional.
